What's up in the Reserve this Season? Print E-mail

With six years of planning behind us, we have developed a whole range of habitat enhancement, wildlife observation areas, and  trail system plans for the reserve.

There is no hurry with any of these, since the reserve is a magical place to visit as is, with the rainforest maturing all the time. Our caretaker is working on projects all the time, and as other members of the community wish to add their energy to the projects  we will continue to enhance the natural community.

Starting in January we will be working on our waterfall pool in the reserve Catarata Gurrion (Hummingbird falls). Damaged by a landslide last rainy season,  the trails are being redesigned and reinforced. Improvements and landscaping plans are underway for the pool area.

Other future projects include:
- Complete walkway to our existing sunset platform
- Self guided nature trail into the reserve
- Orchid and bromeliad cultivation and re-introduction program
- Trail system development
- Wildlife observation areas along the perimeter road
- Continue planting of various food supplies for the wildlife.
- Other projects as inspiration guides us.

To help enhance nature’s efforts while enjoying the developing reserve paradise is truly an enjoyable undertaking, and a very connecting endeavor for our growing Rainforest Preserve Community.
